[CONTINUED FROM THE FRONT PAGE]

My first hex fish was a dink from the side of the boat…

…but my second (And possibly last personal one of the season?) was a solid 20” to make my night!

Hexes are on now as everyone well knows, but I’ve only had one shot at it so far since getting back with John and Charlie the other night. The first of my family members showed up yesterday and the rest will arrive today for my Dad’s birthday celebration. Between my Dad, stepmom, four sisters and their families I am having 20+ guest and will be tied up for the next several nights in a good way.

Sounds like there were almost too many Hexes out on Monday night, but a few managed to score in the mix regardless. I was out on a last ride with the boys before departing for Alaska. We went to an all you can eat shrimp and crab legs feast and got our money’s worth!

Just heard from John that last night was quite a bit slimmer on the bugs and much colder than it has been, but while I was visiting with family John did a half day hex trip where they still managed a 19” and a 25”!!! Can’t wait to see the pictures of that HOG!!!

Stuart drove all the way here from Pittsburg this past Saturday to fix my computer and do some stuff for the shop network so thanks to him I am able to post this! We thought about hitting the hex that night, but by the time he was finished with the computer stuff there wasn’t time for a good float down and we wanted to float without messing people up who were already there.

Besides a good number of boats we also heard there was a ton of guys already walking in so we avoided the crowd and put in late at a mid section. Stu managed a couple on dries before dark and after dark we rolled some serious fish, getting tight on one hog that got off and catching a couple of the smaller ones. Good times with a great friend… Thanks again Stu!

A few of the ones we managed, but would have liked to have seen that one!

I’m blocked off for the family thru Saturday day, but I’ve got a half day hex trip on Saturday night, (Most of the family will be gone by then) another half day hex on Sunday and then I “currently” still have Monday and Tuesday open before I leave to the great north for anyone interested. If I don’t pick up trips for those days I won’t be heartbroken as I’ll get a few more shots at it myself, but I always welcome the opportunity to put that smile on someone else’s face and take just as much pleasure away from it…

Got to cut this short now and figure the rest of our day out, but before I leave I want to mention that we do still have openings for the BBT weeks in Alaska! July 28 to August 4 and August 4 to August 11. It’s a deal that can’t be beat if you can make it happen, details below…

Also, thanks again to all those of you that showed up and helped out on the clean up. It was a better turn out than expected for a holiday weekend as understandably many couldn’t make it, but we did good and had a great time!

The cleanup crew over Memorial day weekend!

Tight lines all,
Steve
