I apologize if I offend anybody with this "rigging" question in this forum but I'd like to get as much info as I can! Here is my question...

...I have floating line on my 9' 5wt and would like to give myself the best possible set-up to throw streamers without purchasing new fly line. Can anybody give me some suggestions?

I appreciate any help. Thanks!

I just started tossing streamers really hard last year. The only way that I can think to save you from spending the extra money for a Full Sinking or Sink Tip is to buy some sinking grease (?). I don't think that is name of the stuff or not, but you can either put it on your leader, and/or fly. It works. Even though I have a sink tip fly line, in the deeper pool's/run's I will put some on either my leader or fly, and it really help's get the fly down quicker.

Maybe someone @BBT will chime in with the name of "the stuff."

Oh one other thing, I would go with a little stiffer rod other than the 5wt. The heaveir wt rod will help turn over your rig.
