Fished the PM last weekend, did my normal run with the boat. Was surprised, but also happy to find out, that I was the only boat on the river, that I know of, in this particular section. I did see a few people walking, and all of them said they at least a hook up or two or landed one, with some trout in the mix.
I however, had a great day. The fish were just a bonus to me. I floated from Rainbow to Upper in pure solitude and quiet. I forgot how peaceful the river is during the winter. She sure is beautiful during the cold month's.
My trip was basically a boat retrevial from the cabin, but figured I was up there, might as well do some fishing on Saturday. I kept it simple and ran a spawn bag under a float all day. Thought about busting out the flyrod a time or two, but was having fun with this set up.
My first stop resulted in a brief battle with my line snapping on me. Thinking there was a knot in the line as it broke off between my hook and splitshots. Hooked and landed a few trout here and there as well. I did bring two steelies to hand, but kep one for a fresh fish dinner, which turned out way better then I have ever done.
All in all, I went 4-6 on fish, if you want to play the number game ;) Like I mentioned earlier, it was a great day on the river, the fish were just a bonus to the day. The boat is home, and I am either going to work on it, or trade in it for a new(er) drift boat. But the Mrs gave me the option of 4-wheeler, a sled, or a new(er) boat. What to get :confused:
