Boy was it cold yesterday and stayed that way most of the day. It started at a balmy 7 degrees and made icing up an issue all day. The sun tried to help but at times it didn't seem to matter. Wearing something black when the sun is out helps, it seems to absorb the heat.

But the fishing seemed to be OK. Doze was into a fish right away at 9:30 am. Unfortunately he would struggle landing his fish because he dunked his Ross CLA into the PM and it froze up solid.


Jim and his friend Mitch were out as well and got into a few...

The transportation for the day was provided by Doze and is pictured below. This boat was made from scratch, no plans, no pre cut wood, etc...

Where things really get interesting and hence the warning for this post is we decided that when we land a steelhead we will pose shirtless... Reminds me of a certain guide in Michigan with a comb-over.. We call it the MS pose.. Again viewer discrestion is advised...Doze was first and ended up 1-7 for the day..

Oh man...I think a tradition is started here...we are up in mid April...maybe we'll throw a full Monty pose and finish it off with a side of Titus posing. Game on. Great pix and great report. Thx.

It was a Chinese fire drill trying to take all those layers off quickly, then to take the pic and release the fish unharmed. With all that adrenaline from landing a steelhead it helped not thinking about how cold it was going to be, but we couldn't get our clothes on fast enough ;) !

This shirtless pose idea came from a guide on a river south of the Pm. Some of you might know who we are talking about. He has posted pics (not on this site) with out a shirt but usually in warmer weather. Our idea was to try and duplicate it but in a cooler climate!! We have the Titus pose and now the MS pose...lol:eek:
