Fishing is starting to pick up for me. I haven't really been out much since my last fishing report. Matter of fact it had only twice for maybe an hour or two with Dustin(aka Rat Fink). Finally things are starting to slow down here at school and I am starting to get more fishing in.
Monday Luke and I went down "just to see" the river. We couldn't resist making a few cast since the rods were in the truck. Had a few fish jumping around but couldn't hook anything in the half hour we were there. We both had a ton of school work to do so we left without a hit.
Tuesday I shot down to the river after class. I didn't have any bait so I decided to try a jig with fake waxies that was on there. My second cast I hooked into a small 18-20 inch trout. My drag was set a little loose and it took off for a pole so I tightened up and try to pull it over a rock up against the pole but it threw the bait back at me. Not much happened the rest of the night until I made a switch to another river.
I then met up with some friends who are fishing with me in the college steelie tourney. My room mate who is a total city boy mentioned he wanted to go fishing so we let him try on some waiders. I forgot to tell him there was a hole in the crotch area.

Then I was off to meet up with Chris(aka steelnice and spoon3264). Choice of bait was spawn. We had seen several steelies coming in and then leaving. We had fished for several hours and I was starting to think nothing was going to happen. Just as I was thinking that my bobber went down and I thought I had the bottom. Man, was I ever wrong. The fish made several short runs and decided to be a pain and not want to come in. Finally she was in the net had I got the skunk off my new reel. She was about 7 lbs and as chrome as could be.

We then had a guy come up and admire my fish. He started at for 5+ minutes. He then came up and chit chatted for a few minutes and then went to the other side of the river. About 30 minutes later mine and chris's bober came togather. I started to reel mine in and something didn't feel right, like there was a fish on the other end, lol. Chris then tried to get his stuff out of the water but the fish tangled are line for a short minute. Then it kicked chris's off and shot across the river and started dancing right in front of the guy who admired my fish. Then it came back towards me and shot all the way across again. After a legthy battle and another stubborn fish the fish was in the net. This fish was about 8 lbs and also bright chrome.

We gave it a little bit more time and then headed in to get ready for our trip down to the little M. That's another story because I have to get ready for a class and then fishing after class.
More to come later
