I am interested in a new vise. I have an old AK Best and like it but the jaws are getting weak and I have read that they tend to break/fracture due to fatigue. The company went out of business and I am in the process of trying to get a machinist to make another set of jaws. In the mean time I am looking for a new vise. Any info on whats new out there for $200 or less would be appreciated. I have been out of the vise market for greater than ten years. Thanks for the help.:)

Had my traveller for as long as i can remember. Great vise for the money, but if you are doing a marathon session be prepared for some finger pain from tightening and loosening the jaws.

they have a rotary vice for around 50 bucks to. I mean if your only wanting a "backup". I have had one for 2 years and love it!! And you can use the money you saved from switching to Geico to buy it!

Not gonna argue the Renzetti but Peak makes a sweet vise for a buck fifty as well as griffin. I have been happy with mine.

Try calling BBT and see what they carry in stock or are a dealer for and select from one of those.

I got a Renzetti for Xmas when i was 15, i still have it, i have broken 2 screws and 1 set of jaws, but i imagine there has been several thousand dozen hooks through those jaws... Great vice, price aside.
