What: A fly swap among Trout fishers...because it's fun! You'll get 12 different great flies back from fellow BBT Addicts (last swap had great flies!!)

When: Due May 15th, 2008 (have it posted by that date)

Who: First 13 people to respond with their fly pattern name on this thread open to anyone around the World; all tyers welcome...experts and beginners...

How: a) Tie 13 of the exact same pattern with the below criteria. Great chance to 'nail' that tough tying pattern you've always wanted to master b) put a small paper toetag on each fly hook with the fly and your name c) mail them to Me, in a small protective container like an Altoids tin or similar, by the due date along with return self-addressed envelope.The Post Office sells perfect envelopes that are great for the swap. They cost .39 cents. I usually have the postman weight my two envelopes and flybox and he puts the postage on. I just buy $2.00 in stamps to cover the return envelope.d) I will sort all the flies into 13 groups of everyone's unique fly e) I mail them back to you in the same container you sent your flies in f) you get 12 great new flies (12 actually as one's yours) g) I will post FLY PORN on the sites h) email me the fly pattern recipe which I'll post on the site.

Theme/critera: None really except the following criteria
1) must be a BIG streamer fly for trout.
2) If you are a new tyer you can send an ESL, or woolly buggers BUT you must ty 3 per tyer( thats 36 flies). Sorry, but there just to easy and it will only help you tie better flies in the long run.
3) hook size is your discretion

Any fly tier can enter this, no matter how good or how new you are to tying, if you can't think of a fly(or never fished steelies) one can be appointed to you. If you are new to tying, The swaps are great for beginners and advanced tiers. It's a great way to see what kind of flies everyone is pitching to hook into some fishing porn!

Good to have you onboard. Might I suggest checking out any of the Kelly Galloup, Kevin Feenstra or Chuck Hawkins streamers . . .
I hope we can get a few more takers for this tie . . . May is dyn-o-mite time for ripping streamers for hungry browns, and drop back steelhead. Bring it on!

It's been awhile so I'm back. Love tying streamers. I'll probably do a rattlesnake or maybe I'll try one of Feenstra's. He has some sweet streamer's. He use's a lot of ram's wool which gives a cool look.

Dallas- Im about half done with my flies, planned on cranking em out last night but my stomach had other plans. Started puking right after I got home. Got up every 20 or so minutes last night to puke. I don't know whats wrong with me, but I doubt I can finish the flies unless I can get much better here pretty quick.

It's called a Lucky Seven, because it has 7 wraps of lead. I usually do them in black, but last time out the ones in brown performed better.

This is my version of Feenstra's River Chicken.

I've never done wool sculpin heads before so it was a little bit of a learning curve. After a few try's and them not turning out quite like I wanted I used this little thing called the internet.

While I was waiting I got a couple more done. I will have them out in the morning. These ones are hard to give up!! Not a super hard tie just really time consuming.. I'm no pro but they are running 20-25 minutes a fly!!!
