My friend Bill and I floated the PM this weekend. The weather was great and we managed a few steelies and a few small trout. We saw grouse, pileated woodpeckers, mink and heard several turkeys while on the river.

Some pics from the trip...

We had fun watching this mink scurry around the Frog Pond hole. It darted around for at least 10 minutes.

We don't see them in Ohio, at least I never have.

Great pics. Good to see you yesterday on the river, glad you and your buddy did well. I was the one in Herb's old Clacka tossing the streamer.

Good to see you guys too. Any luck with the streamers? I tell ya, the drive back to Ohio is a pain. I wish I lived closer. :D

Very nice pics! Sweet boat too. Did you guys tie all the egg patterns in that box? Those things look perfect!

The streamers were moving a lot of browns. Landed two nice ones, a couple others I would like another shot at. Going back to give another shot Wednesday.

Nice pics GO. I'm still drooling over that boat of yours. I don't think I could actually take that thing down the river in fear of even a minor scratch. It's the Ferrari of drift boats.

We were the 3 guys in the highside Osprey. After we passed you we managed a few nice trout on streamers around 7PM. Had a huge one chase all the way to the boat and turn. Great day to be on the river.

That is my buddy Bill's egg box. He worked at a flyshop here in Ohio and he got all the flies there when they closed - for free. I think he made all the glue eggs. He was good at those...but we hardly use them.

BTW, our fish took orange eggs and little black stones. The takes were within the first few casts after switching patterns and running the rig back through the runs.

I was going to ask if you had success with all those different egg colors. Maybe I just fish it harder but my tangerine McFlyfoam eggs seem far and away better with Oregon Cheese after that.

Nice report and photos. The mink reel was fun to watch. Looks like the perfect trip.

That was my friend Bill's egg box. My eggs patterns are mostly McFly foam as well. I tend to use shades of pink and orange for eggs. We heard some guys had luck on little black stones near M-37 when we were loading up the boat at Gleasons. So, the next day I used a little black stone and caught the chrome fish on the first drift after changing flies. It really can make a difference to change flies and change often.
