Three of us fished for 2 days on the PM for the first time. We did a lot of exploring and experimenting on Friday hooking up legally 6 times and landing 2 (both released) after fishing from sunrise until about 1:00. Five of the hookups were on jr. thundersticks (green & white and firetiger worked best) and 1 hookup was on a spawn sack under a float. It took us a while to find a pattern that worked so it wasn't until about 10:00ish that we were confident in what we were doing.
The 2nd day we had a blast!!!! We settled in on primarily using the jr. thundersticks. These fish SLAMMED THEM!!! We hooked up approx 15 times between the 3 of us on Sat after fishing from sunrise until noonish, but only landed 1 fish (had a few others close to the net). We were using 6-7 ft med and med-heavy rods spooled with 10 lb test and the fish were just kicking our a$$. It was tough trying to tire them out while also making sure that you kept them out of wood. They either broke us off or shook free and a few even bent our trebles straight. We had absolutly no chance with the couple of bigger fresh that were somewhat fresh, but it was still a great time fighting them. We will definatly be back next year. Considering the fishing was supposedly spotty-okay I can't wait to see what it's like when it's "good-great"!!!!! Thanks for all of your help prior to the trip!
