Fished from friday morning till sunday night in the fly water on all 4 days. Before i give my report i want to say that the reports BBT has given so far are right on the money, i found the exacy conditions they have been describing for the fly water.
Now to the good stuff....
2 of us were fishing on friday and we ended up hooking up with about 20 fish a pc and each landed one, mine was a easy 20-22#er and my buddy's was a solid 18-20#'s. The new structure in the area we fished made for some interesting battles to say the least so we lost many of the fish hooked to the logs.
Saterday we had 4 guys in our group and it went something like this ..i hooked about 18-20 fish and landed 3...one fouled in the tail and 2 that slammed a new pattern i was trying. My one buddy hooked 3 and almost had one to the net but lost him right at the net....other buddy hooked about 15 and the last of our group hooked around 5-6.
Sunday was 3 of us fishing and i hooked around 10-15 but could get any to the net, but one of our guys managed to land one out of about 12 he hooked.
Just to make this clear and not trying to sound like the fly water is full of fish because its NOT but IF YOU KNOW WERE TO GO there are about 2-3 holes that are holding good numbers of fish (around 30 fish in each spot) but if your just wadeing around and have not scouted out the better holes in previous years and get to them early in the morn then you will more than likely be getting the big skunk for the day....but that should be changing very soon.
