Hey guys...I need a new duck/goose gun and was thinking about Remington's 11-87 SPS Super Mag Waterfowl or a Browning Gold. Anyone have any experience with either of these shotguns? I've heard that the 11-87 has a tendency to lock-up...
Thanks for the help

Just a suggestion, but I have a Benelli M2, have shot thousands of rounds through it, and have never had an issue. Light kicking, easy to clean, a great shotgun that you could probably find for the same price or maybe less than a browning gold. Hope this helps, good luck, straight shooting, and tight lines.

The wife and I both shoot Gold's in the 3.5 version. Love them!!!!

I'm a duck hunting addict, which is an understatement. I've been thru alot of guns and was a diehard Remington fan for years. Picked up a Benelli Super Black Eagle 2 years ago and I'll never have to buy another quacker gun again! The design is unbelievably simple and rugged. It's the finest, most dependable, auto loader ever made. Eat's 2 3/4 extra light AAA's to 3 1/2 Mags without a hiccup.

The Benelli SBE is a great gun, but I also have 2 Browning Golds and I love them.

Thanks guys...kind of hesitant about the Benelli. My friend has a super black eagle and it jams on him occassionally and Ive heard about it jamming on others. Great feeling guns, though.

ALL auto loaders can and DO jam........typically at the MOST inconvenient moment.....t'is why, when i go a shotgunning, i carry an Ithica 37.

Buy American or stay home is my opinion when it comes to firearms...some really good brands and good guns to be had right here to home!

Just my $.02

Doesnt Beretta own Benelli, Franchi, Stoeger?? Isnt Beretta American? If I have to...I'de rather buy a non-American gun that functions properly rather than a badly manufactured American gun.

I won a Franchi at a Ducks Unlimited Banquet last year and it says Benelli on it and is nearly identical to my SBE.

I had a remmington 11-87 super mag and never had good luck with it. I had the thing jam countless times. I broke the little arm that was inside twice and a gunsmith had to fix that. Would'nt cycle small trap loads and had a hard time cycling 3.5 goose loads. My advise buy a winchester super x 2 or SBE. Have both and never had any problems.

That Franchi I-12 is an outstanding gun, and priced right. Best bang for the buck on the market right now.

we (my dad) have had an 11-87 for year put many rounds throught it and the only time i remember pulling the trigger and the gun didn't go bang was because of a dud round. it is a few years old between 5-10 but it does not jam!:D great gun, but I dont waterfoul either, I only shoot clays and turkeys with the shotguns anymore (though they have killed a few deer, I now only use a muzzle loader for firearm) so i dont know how it would preform for that purpose good luck with the gun shopping.
