Hello all, my name is Troy and I hail from the big metropolis of Vermontville, MI (near Lansing). Every year in late September I make the journey to the Walhalla area in search of King salmon and a well deserved break. The problem I run in to though, is that most of my buds use all their vacation time during the summer and don't have any time left other than weekends to fish in the fall. I prefer weekdays to the crowded weekends, but if your willing to walk a little, uncrowded waters can be found. I enjoy the solitude to an extent, but a good crowd to celebrate with after a great day on the pm is also nice. Is anybody going to be in the Walhalla area the last full week of September? I usually stay at the big campground near Walhalla (not sure if I can name it or not on this forum????). Just wondering if anyone might be interested in hanging out, catching a few fish and enjoying a few beers. I have an RV that sleeps six people comfortably so if you need accomodations, that can be arranged too. Thanks for reading and good luck to all fishing this summer and fall. If there are any responses to this I will post my email and contact information.

Myself as well as about 4-6 guys from TFF and most likely Alexsalmon from this site will be on the Pm from about Spet 20-25th for a salmon fishing outing. We usually fish a spot I've fished for the past 10 years in the upper fly water and most likely will be staying at Motel BBT, but if you'd like to meet up with us for some fishing or such we'd be happy to hook up with ya while we're there.

Myself and a couple of buds usually make the pilgrimage up to the PM late Sept. early Oct. hunting the kings.....where we stay and exact dates are usually a thing worked out later in the year.........we come with tents.....canoes.......and beer.........oh and usually some venison for the fire(nothing better for celebrating a grand day on the PM hunting kings than cold beer and venison steak cooked over an open fire....good company sure helps as well......as i have spent MANY a deer camp or trout camp alone....solitude is nice...but some folk to swap lies with and generally just yuk it up is nice as well)

Last year we ran the Sulak down to.....to......oh damn....my oldtimers is acting up.....the "hidden" takeout with the steep stairs just above Walhalla.

Did well last season (in my estimation of a good outing) hooked 2 FAT kings myself.....wasnt able to land em as they were HOT fish....but just the battle they gave (even had one breach its entire body and then some 10 feet in front of me before spitting the hook in my face.....oh well, thats salmonid fishin) makes for a good day when surrounded by natures grandure.

Anwho....we may be able to work something out.....i personally am always willing to meet up with folk from websites....especially when its folk of like mind when it comes to nature.

Keep me abreast of whats goin on. You can p.m. me here............or FMJ45cal4u@verizon.net or www.myspace.com/fmj45cal4u.

Feeling a little envious. Not complaining to have good work planned, but my work schedule is really interferring with my fun. I'm schedule for late Aug/Sept/Oct and early Nov, mostly 6 days a week, there's no King fishing in it for me this year. I usually make 2 trips, if not three, including some late season perch with my dad on Burt Lake, plus expeditions on the Betsie, Boyne, and PM.

I do enjoy the discussions, kind of keeps you going through the work.

Aye, to the "discussions getting me thru the work"....tis why i spend so much time on this site......not sure if the fishporn helps or hinders getting me thru the week and the times i make due with chasing our stockers down here.

Thanks to all of you who have replied so far. Its great to know that in the fly fishing fraternity, so to speak, there are people who are willing to welcome the opportunity to meet and share a beer cooler with someone they don't know but share a common passion with.

Sounds like this could turn out to be a "mini-outing" Either way it's fun to meet other's from these sites.

If and when I do get out and hit some salmon this year, it will be outa my drift boat (hopefully)
