Hey guys,
Gonna hit the U.P. around the end of Sep. Any body have suggetions on hot spots and patterns? Would that be towards the end of the run? We're leaning towards the west side.

Yep, thats towards the end. Its in full force up there right now.
Any type of small streamer works well; use durable materials, i.e. bunny leeches instead of wooley buggers will outlast the mangling thier sure to get. Also, egg flies in flo. pink work great. Hares ears and other buggy nymphs in natural browns and olives will do. I have also had success with the traditional wooly worm; all of these flies in small sizes like 12; 10 for the streamers....keep em small.
Remember not to set the hook too hard with pinks. ...thier soft mouths cause hooks to pull out easily; and Ive seen anglers loose fish after fish because they are trying to slam it home. Not necessary. Think of em as silver crappies.
Upper carp river should be the place; and if your willing to go into CAN, small rivers NW of the soo will have em in the upper reaches; with lots of kings....as you would expect.
