I was recently thinking, how to make a fly have more action in the water? I came up with some solutions. My favorite time fishing is, pulling pluggs for kings in the lower sections of the rivers, they hammer those pluggs like no other, you really have to have a hold of the rod, and i really like to fly fish so... So i was thinking of trying to make a plug-like fly, so i did. This is what i came up with, im hoping they swim how im wanting them to, but we will see, im goign to test them out tomorrow.

there is a fly called the "wiggleMinnow" its a fly from Tenn. they use for smallmouth. I wish I had a picture. You tie it with round foam on a slightly curved hook. the head is cut at an angle. This fly has awesome action and will not roll over even in the fastest water. The Fly Shop of Tennesse was where I picked up the fly, it was my number 1 producer for smallmouth last summer, but I broke the hook off before salmon season arived. I need to get somew more before summer for smallmouth again.

Cool! Never seen a bill like that on a fly! Maybe try a gurgler?

John tried a few with a lip like that last year and we had some problems with them twisting in the river, but we did get a beter lip idea from a guy at the show in Chicago and will let you know how that goes.

How did your test come out?
