I have been searching for some "black plastic craft bead string" (just like bead chains for ceiling fans, but plastic) for a long time without success. I am wondering if anyone knows where I can pick up a couple of chains? Thanks for any help.

Craft stores like "Micheals" carries it. Usually its on a spook and you can buy it by the ft. They use to have some really small sizes that made great eyes for flies if thats what you have in mind.

I bought a pretty hefty length at Joann Fabric. They are black beads. Comes in a plastic container for around a buck. Great for hex and nymph eyes.

Thanks, I live in Mt. Pleasant and the JoAnn here did not have any. I will go to Michaels next time I get around lansing. Thanks again, and the search continues.
p.s. Yes, I am trying to use them for eyes. I am a begining fly tyer (last two months) and I am just trying to get some basics down. Someone has told me that this plastic bead string is the best stuff. Is there something better to use?

If your local Micheals dont have them let me know and I can always hit the one by me and pick you up some if they still have them.
