Is anybody seeing deer in Baldwin? We are about 10 miles west of Baldwin and this is the most deer we have seen in the last 5 years. I got a nice 6-point last Saturday night and I was using some doe-n-heat lure. He came in sniffing around and walked right in front of my treestand.
Good Luck to everyone on Wednesday!

my neighbor in Grand Rapids has been hunting in Baldwin this year and has shot a super nice 8, and a nice 6. His buddy managed a nice six also. He has some other nice 8 points and some smaller 4's and spikes on his cam tracker camera. Also a few pictures of Bears.....He said he has never seen that many deer ever up there, and he has been hunting there for 5 years, as you may know Lake County isn't known for it huge deer every year.......Good Luck out there......
Stopped in to the taxidermist in Baldwin yesterday. Amazed at the quality and quantity of the racks I saw. All the guys in the shop had very favorable reports on this season. The 2.5yo+ bucks develop nicely after a great mast year like we had in '05.

I have 640 acres not too far from Baldwin with no food plots or any other way of making big bucks other than acorns. In one night my buddy and i saw 7 bucks between the both of us. One being a 120-130 class 10 pt. and another 10 pt. close to the same size. All the other deer were either good sized 8pts. or 6's. Looks like a good crop for me next year. Can't wait. On the upside I did manage my first buck with a bow after a 14 year drought with a nice 6 pt and followed that up with a nice 7pt. opening day of shotgun season. It's a weird feeling not really caring if I hunt or not. Good Luck to all those still in the pursuit.
