this cool overcast weather we are having is really bringing back feelings of nesthalgia of past hunting seasons. I also know i'm the only one in the family who has been awaiting this weather since last may. With football season in its only a matter of weeks before i take to the woods for three months in pursuit of the illusive whitetail. Put my tree stands up this weekend, getting my clothes and gear around, shooting my bow before i leave for work in the morning. I no longer have to stock up on baking soda now that i have scent block. More importantly my seasonal beard is filling in nicely! What is everyone else's yearly traditions prior to and during hunting season?

Amen guys!!! For myself, waiting for OCT.1st is like my kids awaiting christmas morning. The sights, the sounds, the smells, oh man i can almost see that sun coming up over the horizon, hear the turkeys on their roost and see the first few deer meandering into my bean field. Pure heaven!!! Good luck to all fellow bow hunters and to the non bow hunters here, put down your rods for just a minute and try bow hunting. I can assure you won't regret it. The seasons aren't long and those fish aren't going anywhere!!:D

My girlfriend thinks I crazy when I tell her in August that I can't wait until the first snowfall. All my hunting clothes are washed in scent soap and packed in a plastic container. Just waiting for Oct. 1. Anyone that is familiar with Woodward Ave (Royal Oak/ Birmingham).- I saw a dead doe at 16mile rd and woodward today.
