I am planning a trip to the Bladwin area to fish for salmon on the Pere Marquette in mid-late Sept. I'm coming from Ohio with a party of 6 and plan to stay 3 days. Can you recommend a lodge and/or hotel that is fairly close to the river? Also, any other info (rigging, public access areas, presentations) would be a of great help. None of us are fly fisherman although we frequently fish the tribs in Ohio for steelhead either casting spinners or drifting spawn and/or jigs with noodle rods. We don't plan on hiring guides so we'll need as much help as we can get.

On the front page of the BBT site click on the link for LODGING and you will find many places to choose from. I usually get my gear at the BBT once there and see the reports of what is hot at that time. (it's better to buy what's working once you're there ) Besides my basic gear the only thing I bring North is my beer since it's 10 cents a can cheaper due to the deposits.(it can save thousands !!! :) No sense in buying lures, etc. at home and finding out that nothing is biting on them making you buy more once in Baldwin. BTW...you'll love the PM.
