about the bill they are trying to pass for lowering the required age min to 12yrs old? I tried to look it up, I think that I found it, but it doesn't say what I am looking for

I seen it on the news last night, and from that, I know that they are trying to lower the age min. to 12yrs old for hunting with a gun. Also something to the affect that the minor must be on private property, must be with a adult, and of course, pass the hunter safety course.

IMHO, I am 50/50 on this one. It's great that they are trying to lower the age rquirement and have to be on private property (if that is correct). But what about all those people out there that don't have access to private property? In a way that is kinda scary, but with the right person and teaching, it would be awesome. I for one (in a way) would like to see this bill pass'd. As that would mean that my son would be able to hunt in 2yrs.

What do some of you think about this? Anyone have a link for these bills?

Look at 12 years old that kid has more than likely started to form other interests besides hunting and may have no itnterest that late. In Missouri we have youth hunts for turkey, deer and waterfowl participants are from 6-15. The early years are when most interests in life are formed.

Your states efforts to lower the age to 12 is not enough. It was a bunch of liberal democrats that inacted the anti hunting legislation by placing a minimum age for hunting to begin with. I would be surprised if the age limit is lowered because of the anti-gun left in your state.

There currently is a huge push in Maryland by The Humane Society to raise the age for youths to hunt to 16. They sight an 8 year old being made a hero for shooting a bear. Good for that kid. The Humane Society is noted for their anti-hunting stance and want all hunting in the United States banned.

Your state has made some positive steps recently, ie. limited dove hunting, but there is still a very strong anti-hunting presence involved in your legislature. In order to continue to protect your heritage, right and love for the outdoors, as a group you sportsman should all be voting GOP.
