Man, the bug has already hit me and I haven't even caught a trout this year. Maybe because I am looking at new reels for this coming salmon season when they get in close(dont have a boat). Pier fishing has been in my mind the last few days and I am itching to get salmon fishing. Man, this is going to be a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggg summer. Guess i'll keep chasin steel :D

Me too! I was just talking about it today. I have several friends coming in throughout the Summer for the rainbows, but I keep reminding them we have the Salmon to look forward to. I've never fished for Salmon up here before, but I am GEAKED, GEEKED, no matter how you spell it, I'm ready!!! Any information/tips you can provide will be much appreciated. THANKS!

LOL, i seen a dead salmon on the side of the boardman last week and another salmon on the shore since beg. of october

All I can say is I love the beg. of salmon season because of pier fishing. Having the waves hit the pier, with the stars above, and that feeling of the next slam by a silver salmon on a little cleo. Then it's the beg. of salmon season. Give them a month or two and were back at steelhead ;)

Well if you can put down the fly fishin rod ;) you should come and fish the oscoda piers. Then you can get out there anytime of august. Warning though, you might get hooked into that stuff :D

We'll for surely keep in touch. Hopefully I will have my flyrod by then. Have to see
