Does anybody out there have any experience with climbing spikes, it looks like a great option to get into trees quickly and move around to different trees effeciently, if you have used them before are there any tips you can give me or should I not bother with them, thanks.

My friend has a set and they are great for hanging tree stands. With that said he does not use them for hunting. We both use summit climbers. They are way more comfortable and less dangerous.

If you hunt on your own land fine. These could cost you a bundle if you get charged for damage on trees. Be carefull here.

I have never used climbing spikes. I have always used ladder sticks. Easy to set up and take down, and only take you about 10mins to get them strapped to the tree.

Yep, no spikes or screw in steps on State/Federal Land. If you get busted, have your wallet ready.
