Floated the Rainbow to Upper Friday. Really decent day but changed near the take-out. We all know the spot just upstream from Upper access on the East side of the road. Property is basically fenced off and the drive has a locked gate/with no tresspassing posted everywhere.I rounded the bend and a 20 yr old kid is sitting on the bank on the mowed grass. I asked him if he owned the blue truck parked on the road near the driveway. He said yes. I politely advised it would be one expensive trip if he was caught tresspassing. He stated" I didn't see any signs." I asked"So you have written permisssion?" Then I noticed an older guy sitting on a lawn chair, which had been taken off the back porch, on the next bend. So I asked the kid if they were together & he replied "No". As I drifted by the 2nd guy he asks me" where's the da!#&*ed steelhead?" I asked him if the kid was with him and he said"Thats my boy". I stated '"The steelhead are in process just like your warrant for tresspassing! By the way your 'boy' has learned well-lied like a pro-& have a good day!"The truck was gone by the time I loaded the canoe so I couldn't get a plate number. Wish I had my camera with me it was truly a sight to behold.
