wow, what a frustrating weekend for the hardware fisherman. Thundersticks (and similar baits) just found logs and got NOT A SINGLE HOOKUP. Mostly firetiger/perch patters, but found myself with plenty of time to cast those odd and wacky colors. I wound up losing about 10 lures in all, so it wasn't too bad on the wallet, but it would have been a lot less bitter taste if one of those stickbaits could have found a fish. Had a SMALL amount of luck with spoons and flies, but nothing worth driving 4 hours for. Still a fun weekend and if nothing else, I can say we had wonderful weather. the user limige has a post up of our kept fish at the ludington fish cleaning station, check them out! 6#, 12#, 12#, 15#. We probably had better luck than most on the river.
